Transfer Case Repair in Akron, Ohio
We Are Akron’s Transfer Case Specialists
The Role of the Transfer Case
The transfer case plays a big role in your vehicle’s performance. It’s responsible for splitting up the engine power and transferring it to your vehicle’s front and rear axles, allowing all four wheels to turn at the same speed. It features gears, bearings, flanges, shafts, and transfer case housing. Not all vehicles have a transfer case. However, only cars, SUVs, and trucks with all-wheel drive (AWD) or four-wheel drive (4WD) use a transfer case. It is usually located at the rear of the engine and helps improve overall stability, traction, and performance. Transfer cases are low-maintenance systems; the main service they will need is a fluid change. They can become compromised due to a lack of maintenance, regular wear and tear, or low fluid levels. If you drive with a bad transfer case, you risk damaging it beyond repair and possibly damaging your transmission drive shafts and axles. We won’t let it reach that point at Millennium Transmission & Auto Care in Akron, Ohio. We are equipped with the tools and knowledge to perform transfer case repair.
